So I felt like I was wasting precious essential oils when I tried to carefully place a drop or two in my hand and they would begin to roll off. Then- oh the stress- if I needed to open another bottle to make a blend before I mixed it with a carrier oil (more precious essential oils going down my arm!). Hoping to have some of the essential oils still there and finally apply. Seriously, I was getting stressed!
In the beginning, I only had the premium starter kit. I was not sure if I wanted to use the roller ball as the kit suggested. I wanted to be able to spread my oils farther. So it sat waiting for the right moment.
Then, it happened, I got to the bottom of my first bottle (Lavender). I could see there was still lavender in the bottle but I could not get any drops to come out. So I decided to top it off with a carrier oil and add the roller ball from my kit. And my first roller ball bottle was born.
We quickly began to use it for everything!! Bug bites, bee stings, cuts, burns.... lavender is the swiss army knife of oils you know!!
I ended up buying a couple other roller ball bottles online I loved it so much. We only have one diffuser and everyone wants it. So the sleepy time roller was born. I placed 10 drops of Peace and Calming and 10 drops of Lavender in a bottle with a carrier oil (I used jojoba oil).
The kids quickly learned to do it themselves, even the 2 year old! After he is done, he says, "mmm...smells good!"
I highly recommend making roller ball bottles for oils you use frequently. You can also reuse your empty bottles like I did and use the same oil that is in it so you do not have to wash it out!
If you do not have empty bottles I have used these glass bottles (affiliate link) successfully.
If you have an empty bottle or almost empty I highly recommend the metal roller balls (affiliate link) sold by Young Living. They glide so nice and fit the bottles perfectly.
So go out there and spread (or roll) some love!!!
